Council of Representatives

The member organizations of the pension fund operate the council of representatives, which is made up of 50 people. The labor union VR appoints 25 representatives, the Confederation of Icelandic Employers appoints 23 representatives and the Icelandic Federation of Trade  appoints 2 representatives.

  • Representatives in the representative council have voting rights at the fund's annual meeting on behalf of the member organizations. Votes are cast on the remuneration policy and the board remuneration proposals, on the board's proposal for the fund´s auditor and proposals for changes to the fund's articles of association.
  • The representatives from the member organizations confirm board and deputies nominations. 
  • The Council of Representatives monitors the activities of the fund, the work of the board and provides critical discipline. The council will familiarize among other things, annual accounts, investment policy and annual report of the fund.
  • The Council of Representatives meets twice a year, in the fall and prior to the fund's annual meeting.
