Payment break during maternity/paternity leave
When the family grows, there is a lot to consider, not least regarding your finances. We offer our borrowers a payment break so that the family can enjoy the maternity/paternity leave better.
When you apply for a payment break due to maternity/paternity leave, you need to prove that you have taken maternity/paternity leave by attaching a payment statement from the Maternity/Paternity Leave Fund.
The application must also include a copy of the last tax return and withholding tax records, both of which can be accessed on Iceland Revenue’s service page.
- A payment break can last 3-12 months.
- It is important to keep in mind that the payment burden increases when the loan has to be paid in full again.
